Betsy has worked with Atlanta magazine in various capacities for some thirty years, becoming Editor in Chief in 2017. During her tenure, the magazine has won a “Best Overall Excellence” Eddie Award from Folio Magazine and was nominated for a “General Excellence, Special Interest” Ellie Award from the American Society of Magazine Editors. Her own longform narrative, originally published in Atlanta, has been featured on Longreads.com. Betsy has served on the board of the Atlanta Press Club and was formerly a regular contributor to local NPR affiliate WABE. In 2015, she launched a quarterly shelter magazine, Atlanta Magazine’s HOME. An honors graduate of Wake Forest University, she began her journalistic career as a medical writer.
