Atlanta Magazine’s February 2023 Issue

A note from Sean McGinnis, President & Publisher:

You may have noticed that in the last few years, brunch has become more…glamorous! In our February issue, we will explore the loud, boozy, and colorful evolution of Atlanta’s seemingly favorite meal. From the fluffy pancakes of the Real Milk & Honey to the delectable dining and drag shows at Lips Atlanta, the featured restaurants and dishes in this issue will satisfy every craving and give you some fresh ideas for that next Sunday morning stop.

It’s time to celebrate the month of love, and what better way to do this than to eat, drink, and be merry! In this issue, we present our comprehensive Dining Guide with fresh reviews of the hottest new restaurants on the scene as well as the classics. Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it, so treat your special someone with one of these amazing local options.

The South River Forest has been a figure of Atlanta’s history for centuries with it being Indigenous land, a prison farm, a dumping ground, and later, a nature reserve. In 2021, it was announced that a new police training facility would be built on the land, surprising and angering many Atlanta residents. In this feature, we examine how this impacts various communities in relation to the city’s history and the ongoing issues faced throughout the country.

Lastly, February is American Heart Month, and we have some great tips for maintaining a healthy heart in this issue. Look into how the American Heart Association is helping Atlanta become a heart-healthy city.
