A note from Sean McGinnis, President & Publisher:
Welcome to your complimentary September digital edition of Atlanta magazine. In this issue we provide our readers with a preview of the Atlanta Fall Arts Scene, a review of Atlanta’s growing influence in the world of female hip-hop artists, and a complete guide to the top-performing Real Estate Agents in our annual Real Estate All Stars feature – plus, much more.
To begin, we preview this Fall’s hottest new looks and trends in fashion. While we’ve all been WFH for over a year, our wardrobes have taken a back seat. With the eagerness for getting out and about – whether for fun, for work, or a special night out on the town – we offer up the latest trends in women’s wear, the future of the men’s suit, a look into elevated activewear and clothes for that extra special occasion.
The Meals on Wheels Atlanta “Our Kitchen” project – a collaborative effort between Design Galleria Kitchen & Bath Studio, ASD | SKY, Choate Construction and many generous product partners – nears the finish line to expand and enhance the non-profit’s commercial kitchen capacity (enabling it to feed many more seniors in our community) along with a beautiful consumer-facing demonstration kitchen, expanded pantry areas, welcoming guest lounge and increased volunteer meeting spaces. This issue provides an update on what’s next.
As with all issues of Atlanta magazine, in this September issue we introduce you to the people and the cuisine behind some of Atlanta’s best new restaurant openings. This month we spotlight Tum Tum Pok’s owner Adidsara Weerasin and introduce you to what’s behind Atlanta’s newest Thai restaurant. This represents the magazine’s first full-length restaurant review in over a year! There’s lots more great dining coverage in this month’s issue with a host of new restaurants to put your dining list.
In our Arts Preview we set the tone with what seems to be an Atlanta audience eager to get back out to enjoy their favorite local performance. So many of Atlanta’s arts organizations have had to think creatively to keep their audiences engaged during the COVID pandemic. Now, it’s time for the curtains to rise once again. We visit with many of Atlanta’s leading arts organizations, introduce you to several creative newcomers and provide a round up of our recommended performances happening in the months to come.
Atlanta has had the longstanding reputation for producing the country’s best hip-hop, but it’s the men who have received most of that attention. Until now. The new sound of hip-hop belongs to several of Atlanta leading ladies who are changing not only the face of hip-hop but also curating the latest sounds and songs that are catching the country’s attention. We’ll introduce you to the women who are leading Atlanta’s new wave of hip-hop.
Lastly, it’s no secret Atlanta’s real estate market has been hot! Trying to find a house to buy? Thinking about cashing in on a seller’s market? Your first step is finding a qualified real estate agent or team that is top in their field. In this issue we present our annual list of Atlanta’ top performing real estate agents and teams. These experts will lead you through every step of buying and selling your home.
