A note from Sean McGinnis, President & Publisher:
Atlanta magazine is pleased to offer you a complimentary link to the digital edition of our July issue. Clearly one of our most popular issues of the year, July’s Top Doctors issue includes our most comprehensive list yet of the metro areas leading physicians (as voted on by their peers) and across 64 specialties. You’ll want to bookmark this edition for sure and refer back to it throughout the year whenever you, your family or friends, are looking for expert medical care.
We took the opportunity to interview several of this year’s Top Doctors and asked them “What Have We Learned About Healthcare During the Pandemic”? A few of the responses address inequities in access to healthcare, focusing on preventive healthcare measures, the need for accurate and clear communication and information delivery, telemedicine and access to mental health resources – just to name a few. You’ll want to be sure to read the full interviews with Atlanta Magazine’s Top Doctors and their views of what our focus should be moving forward in the delivery of healthcare services.
In addition to this year’s list being the largest ever, the Top Doctors issue also introduces you to more Top Doctor practices than ever before through our physician’s advertising profiles. These profiles allow medical practices of all types to highlight their physician’s credentials and expertise, along with other key characteristics of the physician’s practice and fellow medical team.
Also in this issue is a fascinating preview of the new book by Andrew Feiler titled A Better Life for Their Children. The book profiles the improbable partnership between then millionaire president of Sears, Roebuck & Co. Julius Rosenwald, and educator and intellectual Booker T. Washington, to form a network of 4,978 schools across 15 states – commonly referred to as the Rosenfeld Schools – that provided education to nearly 35,000 Black students, during a time when Black public schools received a fraction of the funding afforded to white schools.
